Fabrizio Soprano

Born in Naples, he graduated brilliantly from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Aldo Tramma, and then followed the principle of the Neapolitan piano school, Maestro Vincenzo Vitale. Later he attended the Ravello Piano School in the class of the world-renowned pianist, Michele Campanella and participated a few years later at Masterclasses held in the U.S. by Emanuel Ax. He has had many concerts in Italy and abroad (Russia, England, France, Germany, Poland, United States, China) in major musical institutions (Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Salle Gaveau, Marble Palace, Schumann’s House), where he received acclaim from both critics and the public.

During his stay in America, he came into contact with other vibrant musical styles such as jazz and rock, and began a research path that led him into collaborations with big names on the international music scene (Harry Connick Jr., Clemens Orth, Tony Bennet, Gato Barbieri). Since then, Fabrizio Soprano continues, in parallel with classical music, a deeper exploration of new styles and musical languages leading him, for example, to monographic recitals dedicated to the Beatles or Cole Porter, in which he achieved a dialectical balance between the classical and new language of avant-garde contemporary music.

Since 2005, he is the Production Manager of the Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival, and in 2009 he was nominated Artistic Secretary of the “Società Liszt,” the Italian chapter of the American Liszt Society. He was one of the pianists invited by the Academy of Santa Cecilia to participate in the “Liszt Marathons 2010-2011” at the Parco della Musica in Rome, on the occasion of the bicentennial of Franz Liszt. Fabrizio Soprano has recently collaborated with the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Assistant of the Choir Master; a fruitful experience that gave him the opportunity to be a part of musical productions with prestigious soloists and directors (R.Bruson, A.Anissimov, M.Benini, R. Muti).
