Michela Pelusio
Michela Pelusio creates immersive audiovisual performances, installations, and kinetic sculptures. Her artistic research explores human perception, physical phenomena, art, and science. Through multisensory experiences she explores the intimate connection between the participants and nature, triggering astonishment and new perceptions of natural phenomena.
Michela is based in Athens, Greece. She performed and exhibited worldwide - at NXT Museum Amsterdam, Onassis Foundation Athens, Bozar Brussels, Max-Planck Institute of Astrophysics Munich, Chroniques Marseille, Electrons Libres Stereolux Nantes, TodaysArt festival The Hague, Drugstore Belgrade, Lexus Hybrid Art Moscow, Mutek Montreal, Mutek Mexico, Mutek San Francisco, Mutek Tokyo, Mutek Dubai, Sonica Manchester, and other venues.
Michela Pelusio has a MA degree in ArtScience and Music from the Royal Art Academy and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and she has graduated from the Art Academy of Carrara, with a BA/MA degree in Sculpture. In 2006-2008 she worked as a teacher for 3 years, teaching “Synesthetics” with Frans Evers, and “Genius Loci” with Robert Pravda and Horst Rickels, at the ArtScience Interfaculty in The Hague. In 2012 she founded and curated ResidenceSEA, a residency in Heraklion Crete, for international artists, who engage in a dialogue between art and science, hosting over 50 artists in 5 years. In 2023 she opened a new art space in the center of Athens, called wOw, which is dedicated to performance art and immersive experiences.
